Like pixel sands through the digital hourglass, these are the passing minutes of our lives. That's the premise behind Russian designer Balykin Pavel's Sand+Time watches which won a Red-Dot design award in 2006. What can we say, we have a 'thing' for Red Dot winners :-) The hourglass is one of the oldest known methods for marking time with hard evidence of its existence dating back to the 14th century. This watch fuses the ancient symbol of the hourglass with the modern blinkity-blink of an LED display and I must say they are quite cool and guaranteed to get noticed on any adorning wrist. Unfortunately these timepieces are not for sale, at least not yet.
